Listen to 'Testing and the Way' Through:

Tough Times

I don’t know about you, but I have been getting a lot of testings. And they have been tough.

I believe it has been a timing in which the cosmic and astrological patterns have been heightening this.

A couple of my loved ones have passed during this time. Perhaps you have lost someone as well. In addition, I have had other a personal testing in my ability to stand in my truth and in my heart. I know from those I have been talking to, others are having their own tests.

So, this blog talk is about how to go through those testings in a positive way.

I do not know that I have fully mastered that. It has been pretty tuff. I know it has been hard as well for my clients and friends. But I think I have learned a little along the way and I want to share that.

Learning Together

But I also think you may have learned a few things too. So please write into the blog page what you have learned about mastering the testing. Or if you are listening on the Blog talk radio site, leave a comment below the player. Together we will win this.

Why Testing

Why are we being tested what is the point? If you want to be a spiritual person you need to go through the tests of that ability to hold those divine qualities of love and power. After all, it does not do us any good in creating world change to only be open-hearted when others are open-hearted. To only tell the truth when others are listening to the truth. To only connect to the divine power when every condition is perfect. We have to be able to find it in the midst of the darkness all around in the midst of the negativity coming to us and around us. Testings are our opportunity to figure out how to do these things of being a spiritual person in the midst of negativity, darkness, and pain.

When we meet our tests with unconditional love, non-attachment, and holding of divine power, our soul energy increases. When our soul energy increases we are of greater service to the world around us and to the world within us.

The Nature of Testing

These testings often come in the form of heartbreak and loss. We lose someone we love, we are betrayed by someone we loved or who was our mate. We find a terrible longing inside of us for something that feels like it is missing. Or, we find a place in us that cannot forgive, cannot forget. Our mind keeps running on the negativities that have happened to ourselves, our loved ones, or our world.

These kinds of testings all close our heart. When our heart being open is exactly what we need to make it through these situations. We need to find a way past and through the broken heart and into the open heart. Because testing is always about being our highest. It is about finding that place in us that can stand for the truth with an open heart, with compassion, with love. And through that, pull the divine power into our lives to recreate--create a new-- whatever has been destroyed. We are creators and can create a better world if we can meet the testings of the world we are in.

If you have broken heartedness from romantic relationships-- there are powerful mantras for you to use to wash that. To receive this mantra write to I won’t teach the mantra here. You deserve to get the mantra in written form and a sound file and an explanation of how to do the mantra that will get you the effect. So write me about it at

Or perhaps you have been ill or taking care of a loved one who is ill. These also are testings. Our own illness can take us so far down. Make us so tired and weak that all we can do attend to the pain or malfunction of our body. We become embroiled in that. We become mired in that and feel hopeless.

Or perhaps you have been dealing with the illness of a loved one. The anxiety of that. The constant attending and constant worry. Sometimes there is day and night care to be given. Then there is the loss of sleep from worry and in physically taking care.

I have had both of these lately. My own illness and the need of my loved one for deep physical care. My tests were comparatively mild when we think about all the things that could have happened. Still, I know how affecting these are. I also know how they can interweave with one another. So much worry and stress in taking care of someone can take down your own health. I also know how easy it is to get stuck into the pain, discomfort, negative thoughts and fear of that.

Perhaps you have been given a diagnosis of something incurable. The fear and sadness that is in that are intense. The worry and pain there are intense. I have a beautiful client who has, what science considers, incurable cancer. But she has a young daughter to live for. It is a struggle, within so many of her own pains and fears, doctors’ pronouncements, appointments, and treatments, to just be with her beautiful daughter. But she works at it. Moving past all this to just be in the joy of being with her child. She is such an inspiration to me. How she goes time and again to the beauty of her daughter and attends there when all else would grab her attention into fear and pain.

Lesson One: Attention

And that is the first lesson—attention. Where attention goes, energy flows. Where energy flows it creates the reactions we experience. Focus on the good.

Focus your attention on the beauty. To do that we have to be able to clear our minds and thoughts and how it is running us. We need to reattend to what beauty is there. There is grace. There is love there. These deserve our attention. And we attend to them they give back to us in kind.

One of my friends recently gave me a mantra the Sri Kaleshwar gave out in 1999. It is such a powerful weapon against negative thinking and negativity. I have done a lot of mantras in my time. This one I could feel strongly just in the first 10 minutes of doing it. wiping away the negative thoughts in me.

Lesson Two: Laugh

The most healing moments are in smiling, laughing, and joking. When taking care of my loved one, I became exhausted and my attention narrowed to just what had to be done: the lifting, the washing, the feeding. But when I could lift my head and share a funny thought, or just a deep feeling, these were the times of true healing for both of us.

Watch funny cat videos on YouTube

Listen to funny tv shows

See the absurdity of the negativity (it is absurd)

Lesson Three: Smile

I read somewhere that laughing is the same biological release as crying. I would much rather laugh it out than cry it out.

As a psychologist, I know that even if you force a smile on your face, there is a chemical reaction in the body to make you feel like smiling. Get the chemical cascade of even a forced smile. You can feel lighter and then actually feel like smiling.

Lesson Four: Give it to The Master

If it all gets to be too much for you, give it to the master or a divine soul.

Sri Kaleshwar said:

“Sometimes whenever you’re going in a really hard time, just simply open your heart and ask Him, “Hey, I can’t handle it–it’s pretty good done. I’m pretty good over-tired. Please take away this pain.” The master’s energy is there. But try to handle as much as you can–it’s your duty.”

Lesson Five: Remember Why You are Being Tested and Thank Maya

Say thank you in your mind to the Divine Mother for her play of Maya, Karma, and negativity on you. Your soul lessons are in that. When you meet them with unconditional love and non-attachment you win that increase to the soul.

Lesson Six: Do Your Dharma

Dharma is right action. It is the actions the soul wants you to take in the world. Doing what your soul calls you to do is some of the most uplifting energy you will ever feel. Do you want to feel better? Do your dharma.

Remember everything can be dharma—right action, if we do it with love. Chop wood and carry water as the Buddhists say. Everything can be done from love. In this way, even the most mundane things can become divine. if your soul is working through you at that moment, it is dharma. Let God work through you in even the most menial of tasks and moments.

What would Jesus do? The same thing that you can do, if you open your heart and take your actions from there.

Lesson Seven: Know You are Not Alone

All of humanity has gone through this over all the times on the earth. It is part of the human condition and souls’ advancement. Those listening are going through as well. We can help each other. So, write in what you have learned so we can help each other. We are not alone.
